Echo + Shay | Engaged

Jan 05, 2012

Well I am back after a very busy but wonderful Christmas season and after my family's annual Lake Louise New Years Trip, which was as always fabulous!

I decided to start this year's first blog with one of my most favorite engagement sessions of last fall (yes it appears I am still playing catch up with posts, but better late than never ;)).  My beautiful friend Echo got engaged last fall to the ever handsome Shay.  Seriously, these two are gorgeous!  They met at a church function and as Shay says it was love at first sight and he knew the moment he met her, he would marry her, yeah I kind of melted when he told me this!  After months of dating Shay took Echo on a drive in the rain and pulled over by the river and in his hand was a box of shoes that she had been eyeing.  Echo opened the box only to find a beautiful ring that Shay designed for her on the heel of one of the shoes and right there in the rain he got on one knee and proposed!  Well we all know her answer and I was so excited when they booked me to be their wedding photographer!

First up was the engagement session, we drove out to Echo's parent's place North of Lloydminster and wow was the landscape in the countryside every beauitful.  They are not far from the river valley and as you will see the area was so fantastic for photos.  I had so much fun photographing these two, they are so in love that it seriously makes my job so easy!  Echo being a true county girl even took off her heels to walk in bare feet across a ridge to this perfect spot with one lone tree, it was farther than we realized but definitely worth the walk!

Here are some of my favorites from the session.  I cannot wait to photograph Echo and Shay's winter wedding this February, you both are so fabulous!

Cailin + John | Engaged

Oct 31, 2011

Cailin and John met while both students attending Concordia University and last spring while on vacation in Mexico John proposed to Cailin.  I was very excited when I met with them about their wedding and became their photographer for their wedding and engagement photos.  I have actually known John for a very long time as I grew up and am very close friends with his older sister.  I love when I get to photograph people I know, there is already a level of comfort with each other and it's always to see people I know so happy!

Cailin and John are such a gorgeous couple, and they are so happy together and in love that it was such a great time photographing their engagement session.  The day was gorgeous, and I loved the location!  You can't go wrong along the paths by the Shaw Conference Centre and Louise McKinney Park.  Here are some of my favorites from their session :)

Congratulations Cailin and John!  I can't wait to photograph your wedding next August :)

Ashley + Josh Engaged!

Sep 16, 2011

I first met Josh when we both attended the photography program at NAIT, and over that span of two years we became great friends.  I was so honored and excited when he asked if I would be the photographer for his wedding to Ashley this coming October.  Him and Ashley met at the Billiard Club on Whyte Ave around 4 years ago and I have to say they are such a great couple together!  During their their relationship, their adorable son Rylan was born, maybe I am a little bias but he is seriously one of the cutest two year olds I know!

Anyways, here is some photos from their engagement session - I thought it would be fun to do a few at the Billiard Club since that was where they met and was super excited when they agreed to let us take some photos there.  After the Billiard Club we ventured down to the Legislature grounds which are always so beautiful!  Here are some of my faves enjoy!

Congratulations Ashley + Josh, I am so pumped for your wedding in a couple weeks :)

Jen + Jim Engaged

May 13, 2011

A few weeks ago with the last remnants of snow still around I went downtown Lloydminster with Jen + Jim for their engagement session.  It was such a gorgeous day for photos, decently warm and perfect light!  Plus it totally helped that they were such a fun couple and were so into each other, which really makes my job that much easier!  We had a great time wondering around the old post office building (which is now a delicious luncheon spot) and some of the ally's in the area.   As an added bonus they brought their adorable lab, Zook, for some photos as well, although Zook was definitely not feeling the camera as much as Jen + Jim!

I've posted my faves from the session below, check em out :)

The is one of my most favorites, and was theirs as well!
I love this pic and yes I totally asked the birds to fly out at that perfect moment ;)

Shyla + Trevor

Apr 12, 2010

Shyla and Trevor were such a wonderfully sweet couple. They are a couple of high school sweet hearts and their love is so contagious! When I met Shyla regarding engagement photos I was pretty excited as she just has this fun positive energy about her and Trevor is much the same which made photographing the two of them a whole lot of fun! They got so lucky with the weather, the whole week hadn't been that nice with snow and cold wind yet somehow on that Saturday the sun was out and most of the snow had melted. The photos have almost a fall like feel to them as spring in this part of the country stays brown until almost May! I've posted my favorites from the session for you to enjoy :) As always comments are welcome!

Their adorable pup Tucker!

Shane & Sherry

Apr 15, 2009

Shane & Sherry; for them you could say it was love at first sight.  After only a few short months of dating they knew that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.  I had a lot of fun photographing their engagement session.  Not only are these two totally into each other they really got into the session, which made my job that much easier.  Their wedding is planned for next summer and I wish them all the best!  I've posted a few of my favorites from the session... hope you enjoy!
