Biography

I don't exactly remember the moment I decided I wanted to become a photographer. My father is a photographer and I grew up around the studio; I always enjoyed taking my own photographs from the time I was 4 years old and received my first point and shoot Canon. However after I finished High School I wasn't even considering photography as a career; I decided to go to the University of Alberta and take business, at the time I really wanted to pursue marketing and advertising. With only one semester left I felt lost and really wasn't sure what direction I wanted to go in, my father suggested photography and I thought sure why not so after I finished at the U of A I enrolled in the photography program at NAIT. During those two years I truly fell in love with the art form. I discovered an artistic side of myself that I never had really listened to and all of a sudden photography turned into this passion. I fell the hardest for fashion photography.

I have always loved fashion and everything about it; the beautiful, the ugliness and the craziness of it all. I felt so fortunate that I was able to intern with Yanick Dery from Montreal and Carrie Schechter from New York; it was such opportunity to learn more about the fashion photography industry. While I still shoot fashion I have also started focusing on wedding, lifestyle, and boudoir photography. I love taking my fashion style and inspiration and applying it to the sessions of my clients. It's all about having fun, and I always want to make sure my clients, whether models, brides, or friends leave the session happy and excited about their photos!
